As a parent, your time is valuable—and your child’s health is your top priority. Between school pickups, work meetings, and sports schedules, getting to the doctor’s office can feel overwhelming. That’s where I come in.
I’m Dr. Sarah Slater, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, mom of two, and founder of Balanced Kids Health. I offer concierge-style pediatric care—meaning I come to you, wherever and whenever it’s most convenient. Whether your child needs a well visit, a sick check, or a school or sports physical, I provide high-quality care in the comfort of your home or community space.
Why Choose a Mobile Pediatric Provider?

1. Care That Fits Your Life
Say goodbye to crowded waiting rooms and scheduling chaos. With home-based visits:
I come to your home, school, daycare, or homeschool co-op
You choose the time—day, evening, or weekend
You get my full attention without feeling rushed
2. Comfort and Calm for Your Child
Children are often more relaxed and cooperative when they’re in their own environment. This is especially helpful for:
Children with sensory sensitivities or medical anxiety
Families with multiple children needing care at once
Parents who want less disruption to their routine
3. Personalized, Relationship-Based Care
As a nurse practitioner, I focus on more than just checklists. I prioritize:
Whole-child health, development, and emotional well-being
Preventive education and guidance tailored to your family’s needs
Clear communication and time to answer all your questions
You’ll always know who is walking through your door—and who knows your child best.
4. Transparent Pricing with No Surprise Bills
Because I operate outside of insurance, you’ll know exactly what to expect:
No copays, deductibles, or billing confusion
Affordable flat-rate pricing
Membership options available for families seeking ongoing support
What About Vaccines?

At this time, I do not offer vaccines directly through Balanced Kids Health. This decision helps me keep my pricing transparent and affordable while avoiding the extremely high upfront costs of purchasing and storing vaccines in small-volume practice settings.
But I absolutely support families in keeping their children up to date on all recommended vaccines. I offer:
Personalized vaccine review and counseling
Referrals to trusted community partners where vaccines are available at:
No cost through Minnesota’s Vaccines for Children (MnVFC) program
Low cost or covered entirely by your insurance at local clinics or public health departments
Retail pharmacies (for age 3+) for vaccines like flu, COVID-19, HPV, and Tdap
I make it easy to stay on track—without making it expensive or confusing.
